Week 8 Round-Up - The Works Working It

AUG 21 - Aaron Mullan

Fri 16 Aug

Jazz/Game/Flash – Group A

If You Can’t Beat Them gets typecast again, losing out to those Fat Bottomed Girls who figure nicely at the top of JGF Grp A along with Crazy Little Thing Called Love. With two rounds to go can Rock It (Prime Jive) muscle into the mix?

Jazz/Game/Flash – Group B

Don’t Stop Me Now continues it’s meteoric rise in Group B, shunning Fun It by 92-10. This leaves Dead On Time (despite a 36-66 loss to PtG), The Hero and Play The Game are left to, um, play the game for second place.

Jazz/Game/Flash – Group C

Group C’s latest fixtures sees Bicycle Race predictably puncturing Need Your Loving Tonight’s hopes (87-15) whilst Flash’s Theme takes well under a week to triumph over In Only Seven Days (65-37). Still, the king of the impossible may be needed to repel Dragon Attack to qualify!

Space/Works/Magic – Group A

Radio Gaga and Who Wants To Live Forever continue to dominate SWM Grp A with thumping victories over Cool Cat (88-13) and Pain Is So Close To Pleasure (96-5) respectively. In the mid-table mediocrity stakes, Action This Day betters Calling All Girls (62-39) in the No-one Overly Cares derby.

Space/Works/Magic – Group B

Under Pressure is anything but in SWM Grp B topping the group with maximum points after three rounds, the latest win coming against Hot Space also-ran Life Is Real (94-7). A Kind Of Magic charms it’s way into second place on vote difference via a body shot to Body Language (95-6), with Machines scalping Gimme The Prize (52-49).

Space/Works/Magic – Group C

SWM Grp C is a much tighter affair as I Want To Break Free confirms the can only be one (point) between itself and Princes Of The Universe (51-50). Man On The Prowl extinguishes Put Out The Fire (58-43) to keep alive play-off hopes. Meanwhile, Don’t Lose Your Head’s fate is confirmed by a 33-68 defeat to Back Chat.

Sun 18 Aug

Space/Works/Magic – Group D

Hammer To Fall nails Las Palabras de Amor (80-11) to light the light the way to top spot. Second spot seems destined to be a two-way fight between the aforementioned Words Of Love and Keep Passing The Open Windows which defeated One Year Of Love (62-29). And there’s another red letter day for Friends Will Be Friends losing out to Dancer (40-51) and still pointless!

Space/Works/Magic – Group E

Routine victories for One Vision (85-5) and It’s A Hard Life (83-8) for Is This The World We Created and Staying Power respectively leaves just excitation for how SWM Grp E finishes up!
